Shedding some light on a tough teaser

In a basement there are three light switches that control three lights on the main floor of the same house.  You begin in the basement, cannot see any of the lights, or shadows from the basement and can only go upstairs one time and cannot return to the basement once there.  What can you do to figure out which light switch goes with which light bulb?  This is not a trick question.  There is a real world solution.

What time is it?

A very rich man lost count of the number of watches he had. One day he decided to count all his watches. After counting the rich man discovered that the number of watches he has can be divided by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. What is the minimum number of watches that he has?


Eggs Anyone?

     Suppose you have only two egg timers, a five-minute and a three-minute. Can you use these two measuring devices to time an egg that must be boiled for exactly two minutes?
